Yang Mi is China’s next great export - possibly even greater than Zhang Ziyi. Often compared to Audrey Hepburn and Natalie Portman for her beautiful, classy and elegant looks, Yang Mi is only 20-years-old (born September 12, 1986) and is the shining student at the Performance Institute of Beijing Film Academy.

Her most famous role thus far is her portrayal of “Guo Xiang” in the 2006 television adaptation of The Return of the Condor Heroes. Though she’s not the lead female character, she’s stolen the spotlight, and it’s not hard to see why.

Naturally petite at 95lbs and 5ft. 5in. with incredibly acting skills, directors are finding her a perfect fit for many leading roles in “Ancient China” style dramas. Although she looks great in old Chinese outfits, I for one would rather see her in a contemporary romantic-comedy where her talent, personality and beauty would really shine.

Yang Mi is she naturally pretty with huge anime-like eyes. She’s as beautiful off-screen without makeup as she is dolled up on-screen.

Done up right, she could shed some of that cuteness that she’s often associated with, and become a hot and sexy celebrity like Hyori and Jessica Alba.

Unlike most celebrities, stardom hasn’t hit her head yet. Yang Mi is very down to earth, and still likes to kick it with her old childhood friends. She’s still a kid at heart and you can really see it in the silly sticker photo booth pics of her and friends.

Maybe the for her next photo shoot, Mimi (Yang Mi’s nickname) could give Maxim Magazine a call. I’m sure the photographers wouldn’t mind turning her into their next hot starlet. Look at the stir they caused with Grace Park’s photo shoot.
